Is ShortsGrab really free?
Yes. Completely free, with no ads, no premium tier, and no daily limit on the public version. We may add an optional Pro tier later for things like batch downloads, but the core service stays free.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Both. On iPhone, downloads save to your Files app (and from there you can move them to the Photos library). On Android, files land in your Downloads folder automatically.
Are there watermarks on downloads?
Never. ShortsGrab returns the raw source MP4 with no overlays, no QR codes, and no branding stamped onto the video or audio.
Can I download private or age-restricted Shorts?
No. ShortsGrab only handles publicly accessible Shorts. Anything that requires a login or age gate on YouTube can’t be parsed.
Is this legal?
Downloading content you own, content released under a permissive license, or content for fair-use purposes (commentary, research, accessibility) is generally fine. Downloading copyrighted material to redistribute is not. You are responsible for how you use the files.
Do you store my links or downloads?
No. Links are parsed in memory and discarded as soon as the response is sent. We don’t log IPs against URLs, and we don’t keep copies of any media you download.
